Terms of use
These terms cover use of this website. Calgary Grading is a lead-generation and referral website; any contractor work requires a separate agreement with that independent contractor.

Accepting these terms
By using calgarygrading.com you accept the terms on this page. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
The content here is general guidance
The service pages and guides explain how grading and drainage generally work. They are written to help you understand a problem and ask better questions. They are not engineering advice, not a site-specific recommendation, and not a substitute for having someone assess your property.
Slope figures, timelines, sequences and other numbers given on this site are common industry guidelines. What actually applies to your property depends on its conditions and, where relevant, on the approved lot grading plan for the lot. Do not treat anything here as a specification.
Municipal requirements
Where this site refers to lot grading rules or drainage responsibilities in Calgary, it does so in general terms and points you to the source. Requirements change and vary by property. Always confirm what currently applies to yours with The City of Calgary rather than relying on a summary published here.
No quote is formed by this website
The free preliminary review is not an engineering assessment or professional inspection. Contractor availability and estimates are not guaranteed. Submitting the form starts a conversation. It does not create a contract, and no price is agreed until it is set out in a written quote you accept. Nothing on these pages constitutes an offer of a price.
Accuracy
We make a genuine effort to keep this content accurate and to say clearly when something depends on conditions we cannot see. We cannot guarantee it is complete or current in every respect, and we are not liable for decisions made solely on the basis of general information published here.
Availability
The site is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will be available without interruption or free of errors.
Intellectual property
The text, diagrams, layout and code of this site belong to Calgary Grading. You are welcome to read it, print it and link to it. Republishing it as your own is not permitted.
Links to other sites
Where we link to an external source such as a municipal or federal body, we do so because it is the authority on that subject. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada that apply there.
