Privacy policy
What this website collects, why, and what happens to it. Written to describe what the site actually does rather than to cover every hypothetical.
Last updated: 2026. This policy describes the current behaviour of calgarygrading.com.
Who this is about
Calgary Grading operates this website and is responsible for information submitted through it. We serve Calgary, Alberta.
What we collect
The only information this site collects directly from you is what you type into the drainage review, quote or contact form and choose to submit:
- Your name.
- Your phone number, your email address, or both. At least one is required.
- The property location you enter, which may be a community name or a postal code.
- The service or drainage problem you select, property type and project timeline.
- Optional project photos, affected area, budget range and description.
- Your preferred method of reply.
- Any description of the project you choose to write.
- Your consent to be contacted, recorded with the submission.
Along with the submission, we record technical context: the page you submitted from, the page you first landed on, the referring website if any, any campaign parameters present in the link you followed, your browser user agent, and a one-way salted hash of your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored in a readable form; the hash supports spam and rate-limit checks.
We do not ask for and do not want financial information, government identifiers, or any sensitive personal information. Please do not include any of that in the message field.
Why we collect it
To review your enquiry, reply and discuss a potential referral to an independent contractor. Contractor availability must be confirmed. We do not forward your details or photos before applicable consent and handoff requirements are satisfied. The attribution fields tell us which pages and sources produce genuine enquiries, so we know what is worth keeping on this website.
What we do not do with it
- We do not sell it.
- We do not rent, trade or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
- We do not add you to a marketing list because you requested a quote.
Where it is stored
Submissions are stored in a hosted database and sent by email to the address we monitor for enquiries. Optional photos are kept in private storage, not published as customer galleries or permanent public links. Access requires an authorised operator token and is limited to enquiry handling. Photos expire after 90 days and are removed by the retention cleanup; you may request earlier deletion. Both the hosting platform and the email delivery provider process the data on our behalf, and may store or process it outside Canada. If that matters to you, ask us before submitting and we will tell you what is currently in use.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept while they are needed for review, consented referral and follow-up. You can ask us to delete yours at any time and we will, except where we are required to retain records relating to work actually performed.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how pages are used in aggregate. It sets cookies and collects standard usage data. IP anonymisation is enabled. It is not used to identify individual visitors, and it is not used for advertising.
The form uses your browser session storage to remember the page you arrived on and any campaign parameters, so that information can be attached to a submission you choose to send. It is first-party, it is cleared when you close the tab, and it is included only with the enquiry you submit.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. Under Canadian privacy law you may also raise a concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Contact
Use the contact page for any privacy question or request, and say in the message that it relates to privacy.
Changes
If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it. There is no version history published, so the page as you read it describes current behaviour.
